Based on your responses, it is safe to say that you are interested in affordable housing but perhaps you need firmer footing to begin your efforts. Simply by taking this assessment, it is clear that you want to set your community down the right path. However, the first step will be finding the right data and vocabulary to engage in this debate.
It starts with awareness, but it can’t stop there. We need a groundswell of advocacy to build community support for political and social change. We also need engagement. There are so many roles that people can play, such as directly volunteering with community housing organizations, and pushing our political and business leaders to change entrenched laws, regulations, and policies.
